Atelier Favela organizes cultural activities to stimulate personal development of children disadventaged by poverty.

At the Cultural Centre of Atelier Favela children can participate in Arts, Circus, Music, Dance and Theater lessons.

Also teenagers and adults visit our art studio. They learn how to make stutainable products. This way they can work honestly for a better future.

After three years of Atelier Favela in Rio de Janeiro, we continued the studio at a new location in Nicaragua. At the village Ticuantepe, nearby the capital Managua. Like before, volunteers, trainees, and all interested people among you, are more then welcome at our studio at Atelier Favela!

Duration

To Volunteer there are different options: BETWEEN 1 MONTH AND 6 MONTHS - Teacher: Teaching lessons to children in Music, Arts, Dance, English, Theater, Sports, Circus or any other cultural activity. - Assistant of lessons - (6 months) helping on organisation level - Specific tasks: wall paintings, making costumes for theaterplays, graphic design, etc. (depending the running projects) SHORT PERIODS: - Assistant of lessons. - helping out with routine tasks. Costs / Benefits

We are very happy with longterm and shortterm volunteers. We can offer housing for our volunteers, we ask for a contribution of US$ 7,- per night in the dorm. If you want to stay atleast 1 month we can offer it for US$ 200,- per month.

Requirements

To works with us as a teacher we ask you to speak spanish or willing to learn spanish. If you just want to come by for a short period we don't have a lot of requires, just being enthusiastic!
