Want to study medicine at University but finding it tough to get on to a course? It's not easy - medicine is hugely competitive and to secure a place you need your application to really stand out from the crowd. With a Gap Medics medical placement in The Caribbean you not only gain experience that could support your application, you get an unforgettable insight into healthcare in this island paradise and the chance to travel around one of the most picturesque ares in the world.

A Gap Medics placement will give you a true taste of what that would be like – and some valuable hospital work experience even if you then choose to study back home.

Our programme is based in St Lucia, you will be staying in the Gap Medics house with other prospective medical students all typically between the ages of 16 and 23. Our houses all have a programme manager, a housekeeper, caterer and 24 hour security.

Our placements here offer the fantastic opportunity to combine shadowing doctors and nurses in the island’s main government hospital with experience in a Canadian Accredited private hospital, providing a wide-ranging insight into health care in the Caribbean.

There will only be up to 12 students on each programme to ensure you are not working in hospitals overrun with travel volunteers.
