Gain valuable work experience or help on a volunteer project with Global Volunteer Projects
6 placements with this organisation ...
Most of us decide to take a gap year or time out to travel, experience new cultures and/or maybe learn a new language. Most join established organisations like us, not just to travel but to help in some small way.
Global Volunteer Projects is as much about learning as it is about giving. Our programmes are designed to incorporate learning the local language and something about the local culture. All our programmes include, where applicable basic language courses as well as 'culture' courses. This may be drumming in Ghana, Yoga in India or learning Swahili in Tanzania.
We also offer a wide range of projects, teaching, conservation and orphanage work for those keen to get involved as well as medicine and journalism placements for those looking to gain that all important work experience.
You can chose how long the placement lasts and when you start. Minimum duration is 2 weeks, the maximum is dependent on visas. Most come for between 1 and 3 months which means you can fit it into a short break or as part of a world trip.
Our programmes cost from £895 for one month and include your food, accommodation, meeting you at the airport, local support from overseas staff and a language/culture course.
Our moto here is "Learning Giving Experiencing". Our projects are not just about you giving or taking.
We try to make sure that our projects are a balance between what you give, what you learn and what you experience.
That may include time spent on a course at the Institute of Journalism in Trivandrum on a journalism project, giving your time on our HIV awareness project in Ghana or gaining experience as a medic in Tanzania
