Info

Calling all budding environmentalists, those wanting to save Planet Earth, or those simply wishing to enjoy the environment and all it has to offer.

Save Thailand's beautiful marine heritage. This is an important and dynamic environmental project that will entitle you to work in some of the most exquisite coastal areas on the planet. You will get involved in a range of significant marine conservation initiatives that are dedicated to preserving the ocean and its residents. One of the most important aspects is teaching the local communities about sustainable development and conservation.

Projects may include keeping records of sea animals, guiding tourists, helping out with English teaching and translation, reforestation and research. There is much to fascinate you in your free time. This area has a thriving gem and precious stone industry and you will admire the quality of sapphires and rubys mined here. For shopping there are many local villages and towns where you can buy traditional Thai arts and crafts.

There are also cultural sites to tour: visit Notre Dame Cathedral the largest Roman Catholic church in Thailand built by Vietnamese refugees. Other historical sites include Buddhist temples, war ruins and monuments to monarchs and leaders of days gone by such as Taksin Maharat.
