Get hands on with Ecuadorian wildlife working at a centre that is home to nearly 300 donated and rescued critters! You’ll be a big part of giving the animals a safe refuge as well as helping to provide essential care.
Founded over 20 years ago the wildlife rescue centre was the first of in Ecuador, focusing on caring for and rehabilitating rescued and donated animals, as well as running 3 captive breeding programmes to increase numbers of the American crocodile, the spider monkey and the Guayaquil green macaw.
Your duties will be many and varied and may include; cleaning and repairing enclosures, feeding the animals twice daily, assisting in wildlife health care, helping to maintaining an animal behaviour database and a bird sighting database and assisting a botanist with identifying plants in the mangrove and tropical rainforest.
You’ll also be encouraged to learn as much Spanish as you can before you go to help you communicate more with the staff and get as much as you can out of your experience!

Accommodation:Shared basic rustic hut, depending on the number of volunteers some rooms could be single sex, some rooms could be mixed sex.

All trips include accommodation, most meals, an airport pickup, in-country orientation, support in-country and 24 hour emergency support.
