Get involved with community work and make a difference playing games, singing songs and planning arts projects with children from disadvantaged backgrounds across orphanages in the fascinating Ho Chi Minh City.
You will be placed at one of a number of orphanages across Ho Chi Minh, according to where you are needed most. The orphanages are home to children ranging from 1 to 18, some of whom will be at school during the day and some of whom have special needs and will require a bit of extra care.
You will be volunteering Monday to Friday, working between 8am and 5pm on morning, afternoon or combination shifts with a handy 2 hour lunch break! You will be involved in an array of activities and a flexible schedule to accommodate the little ones, some of the activities you will help with are:
• Teaching English
• Arts and crafts
• Sport and games
• Outdoor activities
• Songs and dance
• Help with disabled children
• Social education and life skills
• Helping at meal and nap times
• Helping staff members improve their English and IT skills
• Domestic duties to ensure the smooth running of the orphanage
• Fundraising for the orphanage
• Improving the appearance of the orphanage
1 - 12 weeks
i-to-i Volunteer and Adventure Travel offer a whole range of projects and adventurous trips across the globe running from 1 to 12 weeks with weekly/monthly departures for trips that are not affected by seasons or weather. Specific departure dates are in place set in liaison with the projects we work with.
Trip prices vary depending on activity and duration. Our volunteer projects start from £499, Adventures start from £699 and Tours start from £599. All trips include accommodation, most meals, an airport pickup, in-country orientation, support in-country and 24 hour emergency support. Our expert advisers will guide you through everything you need right up until your departure and are always available to help once you are away!
No specific requirements or qualifications are necessary, just a sense of adventure, a desire to make a difference and a responsible attitude towards the destinations you visit.
