Want to get up close to mini kings of the jungle? Working at a lion conservation centre in South Africa you can care for, feed and even take a dip with lion cubs and explore the amazing Pilanesburg National Park!
The lion centre aims to give its inhabitants as natural a habitat as possible, where these amazing creatures can roam free and well-looked after! Also home to other predators including hyenas, wild dogs, and jackals the centre is involved with a unique project that is working to breed endangered white lions in captivity.
You’ll get your fill of lions working for 12 days at the park from around 8am to 5pm (6pm on weekends). Your activities and schedule will vary from day to day, an average day might see you helping in the nursery and cleaning enclosures, doing a stint at the giraffe station and lending a hand with the evening feed. If the weather is fine, you also can swim with the lions, a totally unforgettable experience!
Finish your adventure in style with an amazing safari at the Pilanesburg National Park, set in the crater of a long extinct volcano and covers an area of approximately 55,000 hectares, you can spot the Big 5 and wonder at the beautiful scenery!
Please note:
You will occasionally be asked to assist with cutting up meat for the feedings and also to help with basic maintenance duties such as weeding.
