A working adventure in Britain is a classic rite-of-passage for young kiwis. We help you with the difficult and confusing things before and after you arrive to ensure the real adventure starts ASAP.
From buzzing cities and quaint villages, to colorful seaside towns and ancient monuments, Britain is steeped in history and full of amazing cultural experiences.
With Work Britain you will enjoy the ease and peace-of-mind of being on a complete support program, with everything from pre-departure advice, through to transport and accommodation when you arrive, and help getting a job.
Upon arrival you will attend an orientation at our partners office where they will go over how to find work and accommodation, cv format, assist in obtaining a tax file number and bank account, tax and employment laws, travel, transportation, mobile plans and more! You will have access to up to date job and accommodation listings as well as computers, internet, fax machines, printers all to assist you in your searches. There are social events i.e. pub crawls, soccer games, and weekend excursions. In case of emergency there is a 24 hour phone number. The staff is there to provide support and guidance the entire duration of your trip!
IEP will provide assistance obtaining the two year youth mobility visa or the five year ancestry visa. You will receive full support and guidance from us for the full duration of your trip.
You can leave at anytime of the year. There are no set departure dates.
To participate in the Work Britain program you must be legally able to work in Britain.
For New Zealand passport-holders this will mean that you must be between the ages of 18 and 30 (inclusive) and can apply for the two year Youth Mobility Scheme.
Alternatively you may be eligible for a British or EU passport, or have a certificate of entitlement to the Right of Abode, or British ancestry. If you are eligible for any of these you will be able to work in Britain but you will have to apply to the British High Commission. No worries there, we'll help you out with all that!
