Day 2 Joshua Tree National Park

Eponymous Joshua trees aside, this national park is also known for its spectacular desert, striking rock formations and unique flora. Take time to explore portions of this vast, eerie landscape, which has mystified visitors for years - most notably U2, who named their 1987 album after the park's resident tree-sized yuccas.

Day 3 Grand Canyon

Road trip into Arizona towards one of the greatest wonders of the world. Inspiring, breathtaking, magnificent - the Grand Canyon is all of these and more. See it from any angle - take an optional scenic helicopter flight or walk along the rim and peer 1,600 m below.

Days 4-5 Las Vegas

Hit the Mother Road, Route 66, and head towards Vegas, the capital of the gambling world. Mosey down the iconic Strip, experience the razzamatazz of a stage show or have a flutter on the gaming tables.

Day 6 Death Valley

As one of the lowest, driest and hottest valleys on the planet Death Valley may not sound appealing, but it is much more beautiful than its name suggests. See its epic sand dunes and bizarrely sculpted rocks, along with flora and fauna that have adapted unique methods of survival in this harsh environment.

Days 7 Yosemite National Park

This national park packs jaw-dropping beauty at every turn from drenching waterfalls to gemstone lakes.

Day 8 San Francisco

Say goodbye to the adventure while soaking up the views of San Francisco's scenic bay. There's plenty to do here so why not stay on.
