This volunteer will assist with doing research on funding possibilities for our organization, assisting with promotion and marketing, and safely building our contact list.
Rainforest Biodiversity Group is looking for volunteers who wish to hone the skills necessary for doing non-profit work. Our non-profit is looking for assistance in finding new funding mechanisms, promoting our organization to new user groups, and in general growing our organization.
This volunteer will help RBG improve its positioning on the website via the following:
- Facebook
- Our blog
- Twitter
- Mypsace
- Other social networking sites
- Other relevant blogs
Our organization is also looking for people to help promote our organization within their own community; this can be in any number of ways.
The volunteer will also do research on raising funds through various mechanisms that include grants, competitions, charitable websites and organizations, corporate sponsorship, etc.
Our organization is also trying to safely grow our email contact list, providing our information only to those who have a sincere interest in our mission and work. Candidates with familiarity with email marketing programs such as Constant Contact is preferred, but anyone who is a quick learner in web-based applications is encouraged to inquire further about this position.

This position can be for any length of time.
This position is open year-round.
There would be no salary or benefits with this job. This volunteer position is a position that can be done in one's own home, because the bulk of the work will be internet research-based, as well as in one's own local community.
Anyone who has an interest in conservation work doing internet research is encouraged to apply. Those who have familiarity with applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Constant Contact are preferred, however, this position can be a learn as you go type situation, and most younger age groups are already proficient at using the web. These types of research skills are good skills to acquire if one ever goes into doing non-profit work.
