Get taste of Indian life and culture! You’ll get adventurous on a 2-day trek, discover your spiritual side with an Ashram experience and make a huge difference to local communities with a host of volunteering options!

Week 1:

After you’ve got to grips with the fantastically hectic pace of Indian life, visited a few markets and sampled some spices, you’ll be off on a 2-day trek in the Lonavala region taking in traditional settlements, spotting local wildlife and staying in a tribal village.

Next up it’s a break at an Ashram. In this spiritual temple like haven you will relax and master the arts of yoga and meditation, while benefiting from the wisdom of spiritual leaders. Now that’s what you call cultural immersion!

Week 2 onwards:

Once you have arrived in Goa you will have the choice of a range of volunteer projects; teaching in a local school, working with youngsters at day care centre or lending a hand with computer education. If you are staying for 6 weeks or longer you will also have the choice of working in the ASRO HIV home or at a school for mentally challenged children.

Generally projects will run for 5 days a week, your help will generally be required in the mornings but this will depend on your chosen project.

Real Gap Experience offer gap years, career breaks and adventure travel from 2 weeks to 2 years with weekly/monthly departures for most trips that aren’t dependant on seasons or weather to operate. Set departure dates means you’re always together with other young like-minded travellers and making new friends is guaranteed.

Costs / Benefits

Prices range depending on activity and duration. Volunteering starts from £389 for 2 weeks, Adventure Travel starts from £799 for 2 weeks and our Paid Work options start from £299 for up to 12 months. All trips come with, accommodation, some food, transfers, support and back up in-country and 24/7 emergency contact numbers. Requirements

There are no specific qualifications or requirements needed to take part on this trip. We do however require that all travellers have a sense responsibility for other travellers, project staff and local community and most importantly... a sense of fun and adventure!
