SEE TEFL is now offering a new Volunteer option along with the traditional 120-hour 4-week complete TEFL certification course. 1-year "O" Visa and Work Permit sponsorship and volunteer placement at no additional cost.

The TEFL course is the same and offered at the same dates and times with the same low registration cost. In addition, there are the following commitments

SEE TEFL will

* Sponsor a 1-year "O" volunteer visa and work permit

* Place the student in a volunteer opportunity through its sister program at the nonprofit DSS Education Foundation

The Volunteer will

* Provide a police clearance if working with children. This can be obtained in the volunteer's home country or in Thailand (details on request)

* Successfully complete the TEFL certification course (>95% completion rate)

* Volunteer as an English teacher 4 hours per week (16 hours/month)

* The volunteer is responsible for the direct costs of the Visa and Work Permit (apx. 5,000 baht payable to Thai immigration)

Volunteer Placement

Direct placement in one of a number of volunteer opportunities from preschool through to adult, at no additional cost. Most of these are in the Chiang Mai area. Currently the following placements are available:

* Temple teaching monks and novice monks

* Local orphanage

* Government college of nursing

* Temple schools

Visa and Work Permit

The one-year "O" volunteer visa and work permit allow volunteers to create bank accounts, register motorbikes or cars, and don't require the large sum of money in a bank or proof of high monthly income.

Give Back, Support the Community

This is a great opportunity to give back, to serve the Chiang Mai community. There are many people, both children and adults, who can greatly benefit and have a strong desire to learn English from native speakers.
