Info

You'll be working with disadvantaged children in a rural community in and around Plettenberg Bay.

As part of your programme you'll assist teachers in the local primary school, help with after school clubs and help to facilitate holiday camps. You'll have the opportunity to look after orphaned children in the safe house, lend a hand at the local crèche and help out with new and existing projects in the area.

The children you will be working with are aged between 4 years old through to their mid teens.

You will be provided with vital on-site support and guidance, offering you a tailored made programme to match the skills and desires that you have, with the needs of local children and communities.

This is a thoroughly rewarding programme and one which people return to year after year.

Where do I stay?

Situated 22km from Plettenberg Bay, you'll stay in accommodation with other volunteers. Your home is surrounded by beautiful forest and mountain views and set amidst beautiful gardens with excellent facilities including a spa pool, BBQ area, TV, internet and phone access. There?s a great social life at the house with regular get-togethers.

We have recently launched a new initiative for small and large groups wanting placements for less than four weeks. Quite simply tell us how many people there are, your skills you have, and we'll find a community programme to suit you

We know that the decision as to where you spend your time as a volunteer is not lightly reached but, we can assure you that your input will be warmly received by community members and will make a difference, as you closely experience some of the diverse cultures that comprise this dynamic country.
