Soul Projects offer spiritual volunteer expeditions at Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.
The expeditions have a unique blend of combining volunteering, trekking, camping, local community projects, conservation work, extreme adventure, and yoga & meditation;perfect for an inspiring trip or rewarding gap year.
The expedition involves yoga and meditation in the forest and on the beach, teaching English and the creative arts to local schools, living in a homestay with a local Guatemalan family, learning Spanish and the Mayan language, exploring and cleaning-up Lake Atitlan by scuba diving and helping to liberate baby Green turtles on Guatemala’s southern shoreline.
The project is halfway in-between being an adventure expedition and a spiritual retreat, and would be suited to anybody looking for a ‘down to earth spirituality experience.’ It would also interest someone who wishes to find deeply rewarding adventures abroad or volunteering opportunities whilst travelling or on their gap year. With the perfect balance of being able to get involved with some community work and conservation work at the same time.
