Travellers Worldwide offer volunteer gap year projects with elephants in Thailand, South-East Asia. They recently announced a brand new addition to the Thailand gap year elephant conservation project…
After keeping people waiting expectantly for over 2 months, Kham Saen the proud new mother elephant finally delivered a baby boy on January 6th 2011. Although a little wobbly on his first day he managed to knock over Kham Saens mahout and show everyone that he was going to be trouble. Kham Saen will be staying on the project during her “maternity leave”, walking and bathing at a nearby pond daily and both of them will be joining the herd again in a few months.
Elephant Volunteer Work Thailand
Change the fate of elephants in Thailand! You'll work hands-on with elephants, giving them lots of care, and also be helping to improve the living conditions of captive elephants in Thailand.
You'll be working with 10 elephants, but you'll be surrounded by up to 200 elephants. The experience of being in the middle of such a huge number of these majestic creatures is awesome!
Few countries in Asia attract as many visitors as this Jewel of the East – and it’s not hard to see why!
Turquoise seas and palm-fringed island beaches in the South, jungle-cloaked mountains and tranquil river villages in the north and everything from golden Buddhist temples to booming Bangkok nightclubs in between, Thailand offers a rich and enticing travel experience for everyone.
