2013 Summer Gap Year Volunteer Programs in India

Volunteering India offers two incredible summer gap year volunteer programs to meet everyone's choice for the summer 2011. These programs are designed to be joined as an individual or as a group during Summer 2013. Gap year volunteers are also welcome to join our usual ongoing volunteer programs which run throughout the year.

The Summer Gap Year Program has two set start dates namely 23rd May 2013 and 27th June 2013. The gap year program is offered in Delhi and Palampur-Dharamshala and is for 03 weeks period.

Delhi Summer Gap Year Program - Offers a chance to volunteer and travel in Delhi, the capital of India and have a chance to work with underpriviliged children while exploring this amazing city. While in the program gap year volunteers will travel seeing different monuments and history Delhi has to offer. You will visit Taj Mahal, now amongst the new Seven Wonders of the World and Jaipur the amazing historic Pink city which is popular amongst tourists for its culture and heritage.

Gap year volunteers will be in a Street Children Project in Delhi. Under this project, volunteers take informal education classes with the children, play games with the children and introducing them to different new activities. Gap year volunteers work at the various contact points or shelter homes, being run by various organizations, which serve as day care centers for these street children. They can assist in providing love, care, basic literacy, recreation and most importantly spend time and shower affection on them.

Palampur-Dharamshala Summer Gap Year Program - Volunteer in the beautiful Himalayas surrounded by quaint and calm surroundings. Palampur is only a 40 minutes drive from Dharamshala, home to The Dalai Lama. Volunteers in this gap year program will work with underpriviled children in day care centers.On the weekends you get a chance to take a Trekking Trip and also visit Manali, one of the most popular hill resorts in India. This gap year program is highly recommended for Groups and friends travelling together.
