Take a gap year in China! Leading gap year organisation Projects-Abroad are now offering gap year medical projects, teaching programs, business & journalism placements or work at orphanages in Chengdu, China! Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan province. It is a central hub for business, transportation and communication. It also plays home to the giant panda which roam the idyllic mountain ranges of the province.
In the Chinese province that neighbours Tibet, there are now projects running in Chengdu. Chengdu is considered a midway point on the route between Shanghai and Tibet. A midway point, it may be, but in the middle of nowhere it certainly is not.
Projects Abroad now offer gap year placements in Business and Journalism in a bustling, authentic Chinese city. It is in many ways far more like 'real' China than it is a tourist dominated place like Beijing or Shanghai. Lawyers or Law undergraduates can participate in real hands-on Law internships as well.
You might like to get stuck into gap year teaching english as a foreign language in the state run schools on the outskirts of Chengdu or volunteering in orphanages in one of our many Care placements there. Budding medics and dentists, undergraduate medical students or even skilled professionals can help out in the needy hospitals of Chengdu which are welcoming gap year volunteers with open arms to Medicine placements.
If you are aged between 16-19 then you are eligible to take part in the exciting gap year 2-week specials in Chengdu next summer.
