GAP YEAR SUMMER SAVER: Take a gap year in Africa and volunteer with elephants. Gap year operator Oyster Worldwide are pleased to announce a tempting summer deal on gap year volunteering placements volunteering with elephants in the beautiful plains of South Africa. Oyster has teamed up with the passionate and caring elephant park situated at the heart of the famous garden route. One of the newest projects, Oyster have received overwhelming interest and are delighted with this.
They would like to encourage more of you to get involved over your annual leave this summer - or even later on in the year. The park was established in 1994 to offer a safe environment to elephants that were victim to human cruelty. The elephants are in two families, with a total of 12 of the gentle giants roaming the plains.
You can join this centre’s important gap year mission, working hands on with the elephants, learning all about their habits and creating a very real bond with them. Shadow a park worker to see how the elephants interact, guide visitors around the park, and even ride around on the back of one of the ellies.
You will be living on site in comfortable volunteer accommodation in lush green surroundings, with a terrace overlooking the elephants in their natural environment. At the heart of the Garden Route and close to Plettenburg bay, there is plenty to keep you busy in your free time.
Gap year projects available from just two weeks in length, please check website for up to date prices.
